2/24

Sixth graders are scheduled to do their Math and Reading test this next Friday and next Tuesday. Those who wish to do both in one are a welcome to otherwise they may split the testing into 2 sections. Not ever student will test, some will do two and some will only take the Reading or the Math.

IMP 1- The big assignment so far is POW 10. At this point student should have found a job and an apartment. They are also suppose to be talking with their parents about making a budget for their money. They have to take into account bills, take home pay vs. hourly pay, food, etc.

There was also a worksheet on planning out a road trip and dividing those costs.

IMP 2- The tessellation POW was due early this week. I assigned homework 17 for tonight and we did "triangles are boring" in class. HW 16 and 15 are past due.

IMP 3- Simon presented a lesson on Modular Arithmetic today, Jeff presented rotating functions using integrals to find volumes. Each night I assigned a WS involving the graphs of derivatives and anti-derivatives.

Fibers- We learned how to Felt this week! Forget the soap wars.

5/21

State Testing:
I've been out sick lately; I'm sorry for the inconvenience. State testing will resume on Tuesday with the testing of 7th, 8th and 10th graders. So far the 10th graders have finished the math section and the 8th graders have finished the Reading. 6th graders may be tested on Friday.

Finals:
As this quarter draws to a close students who are wondering if they should go to the next level in math should come talk to me. Generally speaking if HS students have had a B average throughout the year they should continue on to the next class. HS students who have not maintained a B average and all MS students will be given the opportunity to take a Final that will determine if they should continue on.

- A WS on a Road trip was handed out today
