Week 2 9/22
IMP 100
We have collected 4 assignments so far in class and have taken a quiz on the order of operations. There will be re-takes of that quiz happening in a week. We are now working on solving linear equations, substitution and evaluation.
HW Update:
Intro to the Order of operations (past due)
Pre-assessment (past due)
HW 2 (past due)
Hw 6 (past due)
HW 7 assigned today
HW 8 assigned 9/23
IMP 200
We covered graphing linear equations, some students did quadratic or equations involving roots. We took a quiz covering graphing and identifying the slope and y-intercept of a linear written in y=mx+b form. We are now working on writing equations given two points, but it's slow going. We've been reviewing how to solve algebraic equations.
HW Update:
Pre-Assessment (past due)
Find the slope and y-intercept (past due)
2 graphs (past due)
Algebra Review (do today)
Writing equations assigned 9/22
Geometry
Page 4-6 # 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 (past due)
Geoboard activity regarding the count of right triangles (past due)
Pythagorean Thm using geogebra (done today)
page 12 do one problem
Statistics
Pre-assessment past due
Ti-activity in class
Human histogram due 9/23
Test on Vocabulary 9/23

Week One Plans
Welcome Back!
Here are my plans for the first week of classes:
In advising we will be starting our unit on hunger and doing a few get to know you activities. Our first class meeting will be on Wednesday and our first all school meeting will be on Friday.
In IMP 100 we will be starting each day will a review of old concepts like the dreaded fraction. We will then learn/review the order of operations. Expect some homework from these days. There will be a pre-assessment that will be handed out the first day of class which will help inform my instruction. It should be done independently.
In IMP 200 we will start with a graphing review and move into a more generic Algebra review. There will be a pre-assessment that will be handed out the first day of class which will help inform my instruction. It should be done independently.
In Geometry we'll be starting with a geo-board activity and Chapter 1.
In Statistics there will also be a pre-assessment, followed by a TI activity and CH 1. Which will focus on terms and definitions. It's a short chapter that will be followed up by a quiz.
In Chemistry there will be an in class pre-assessment and a written HW assessment focusing on fears and issues related to the class. We will then move on to the "the atom and the scientific method."

Close Out Week
This is the last week for my morning classes. There are 3 more afternoon classes.
In most every class there is a portfolio due, it is worth 25% of the final grade so most energy is being focused there. Students are redoing quizzes and tests for better scores and doing their final assessments. In IMP 100 and 200 there is a final assessment that will only help the students overall grade. In Pre-Calc there is a final that will be averaged in as a normal test. Geometry and Combinatorics have no finals although Geometry will have a math savager hunt.
