IMP 1 has HW 22 past due

We are working in groups on POW 7 (Create a Game) due the 12th
We are about to finsh our unit on Probabilty and will begin a unit called the "Overland Trail"
IMP 2 is working in groups on POW 6 (Prob and Stats) due the 13th
They had a HW on the Probabilty of getting a Chi Squared Statistic and a freqency table due last week.
IMP 3 Finished a problem on extimating area under curves and of solids, they presented last week.
Chapter 4 Review is due on Tuesday
4.6 is past due and no one has turned it in yet.
Transitional Math have been working on their geometry skills. Their last HW was on the Pythagorean Thm and right triangles.
They will have another worksheet on the Pythagorean Thm on Monday which will begin our unit on area and volume.
I will be having one on one meetings with members of my advising to work on Individual Learning Plans during Project Time. I will be starting with the Juniors.

Syllabus for Quarter 3
Course Name: IMP 1, Integrated Math Program Year One.
Instructor: Jess
Prerequisite: Q2 IMP 1
Objective:
We will continue this quarter with our study of probability and statistics. So, far we have covered frequency tables, theoretical probability and observed probability. Our review of number manipulation and graphing will continue as a beginning of class activity.
Materials:
Students should have access to a 4 function calculator at home, graph paper, pencils, and a ruler. TI 83 Calculators are recommended but not mandatory.
Homework will make up 25% of the student's grade. I will accept late homework but will mark down for late homework. A student may decide to do an alternative assignment or work during ILP time instead of doing an assignment.
POWs and other larger projects will make up 25% of the student's grade. There should be 2 or three Pows/large projects this quarter that will be graded. An alternative assignment or project can be arranged if the original project is above or below the students ability. Options include tests, self designed projects, work on individual math goals.
Participation will make up 25% of the student's grade. This will take into account attendance, participation in morning activities, participation in class/group activities and behavior.

Last quarter we focused on solving quadratics using factoring and graphing. The distributive property was also revisited and related to area models. We have just begun a unit on Probability and Statistics that will take us through quarter three. The graphing calculator is also being used as tool for solving equations and visualization.
Materials:
Students should have access to a 4 function calculator at home, graph paper, pencils, and a ruler. TI 83 Calculators are recommended but not mandatory.

Quarter 2 we finished Professor E. MC Squared's Calculus Primer and began reviewing PreCalculus. We will continue to cover limits, graphing and function manipulation. We will work with imaginary numbers, exponents, radicals and our understanding of limits of functions will further be developed.

We will work in a small environment to improve everyones math skills in preparation for High School. This will decrease the anxiety most students experience with this difficult transition. We will learn how to use graphing calculators as a tool. The class will have a lot of group work and individual student instruction and assessment so that everyone is being taught at an appropriate level. We will cover: rational number manipulation, probability, slopes of lines, equations, similar figures and geometry.
Materials:
Students should have access to a 4 function calculator at home, graph paper, pencils, and a ruler. TI 83 Calculators are recommended but not mandatory.
